Municipal Council Departments
The MCD seeks to improve the quality of life and well-being in the city of Sharjah within its strategic vision. It is committed to launching initiatives that support humanitarian causes for the local community. It uses all possible means of communication with the community members in order to touch the issues of direct concern to them and to identify their needs and aspirations.
Inventory of the council’s property and suggest systems to organize its management and develop the best ways to exploit it, and propose rules and controls for temporary use within the scope of the council’s geographical and administrative jurisdiction.
Working on Islamic values and Arab identity in a way that does not contradict public morals by addressing societal pollution and extraneous customs in coordination with other competent authorities.
Examine the plans of projects for the construction, paving and development of squares, streets, public roads and public car parks, in coordination with the committees and the competent authorities.
Studying the systems that ensure public cleanliness, protecting the environment from pollution, collecting waste, determining their burial sites and how to dispose of them or recycle them, in accordance with the latest scientific and economic methods, and in coordination with the concerned authorities.
Examine the plans of modern streets and roads prepared by the competent authorities and express an opinion on them before they are approved by the competent authorities.
Suggesting farm sites and their area according to the nature and needs of each area and presenting them to the Council to decide what it deems appropriate in this regard, in coordination with the Planning and Survey Department.
This departments allows citizens of the Emirate of Sharjah to apply for housing support requests, such as loans and housing grants that allow a citizen to build a home for his family on the residential land he owns or is granted to him.
Examining the complaints submitted to it by the contractor or the owner or their legal representative against the other resulting from the implementation of the contracting contract and trying to bring the views closer and resolve the differences between them.
